Do you remember the very first time you fell in love? That feeling that you just can't put into words? I have been painting all my life. I drift into and out of impressionism and post-impressionism. I do landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes. I use color to create emotion and feeling. My goal is always to leave the viewer with that feeling that you just can't put into words.
I was driving down 108. I remembered my friend Gavin Glakas mentioned a friend of his had opened a Brewery or Winery on 108. I drink neither, but I knew it was one of those new spots set up for family and friends. Just after passing the sign Lone Oak, there was a slice of sunflower heaven. Apparently, Gavin's buddy planted sunflowers out front. I went home, got my plein air gear, drove back, asked permission and painted in the shade. Great spot. Friendly folks. (I would like a little burger/hot dog grill added!)
