Do you remember the very first time you fell in love? That feeling that you just can't put into words? I have been painting all my life. I drift into and out of impressionism and post-impressionism. I do landscapes, seascapes and cityscapes. I use color to create emotion and feeling. My goal is always to leave the viewer with that feeling that you just can't put into words.
DC has limitations on the height of buildings. Nothing can be taller than the Washington Monument. The doesn't allow for much of skyline views of the city. Of course, if you stroll along the Potomac River, Virginia and Rosslyn and Crystal City offer beautiful views. One of the many times I have perched on a bench on the DC side of the river, I did this watercolor sketch of Crystal City.
